Town Clerk's Office

The Town Clerk's Office is the public relations center of town's municipal government. Questions on all aspects of the community can be directed here. 



Recording Secretary:

Author of the official minutes, which are retained permanently for legal and historic purposes.  The official minutes are the record of actions of the Town Board.


Filing Officer:

Duties include maintaining the records of adopted local laws, oaths of office as well as other official documents.


Licensing Officer:

Issues licenses and permits for hunting and fishing, marriage, dog, handicap parking, and games of chance.

Tax Collection:

The Town Clerk is also the Tax Reciever for the Town.


Registrar of Vital Statistics:

The registrar  is the custodian of all birth, death, burial permits, and marriage certificates occurring within the town, as well as access to genealogical records.  These records are confidential and restrictions apply.

What do you need to apply for a marriage license?


  • Current photo ID. May be a photo driver's license, DMV issued non-driver's license or passport.
  • Original or Certified Copy of Birth Certificates (if foreign certificate, must have a certified translation).
  • Parents full names including your mother's maiden name.
  • Where your parents were born.
  • If this is not your first marriage, please have copies of your divorce papers or a death certificate for a deceased spouse.  This includes ALL divorces and/or deaths.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply without parental consent.
  • Both parties of this marriage must appear in person to sign the license application.
  • 24 hour waiting period after license is issued before you can get married.  License is valid for 60 days.
  • $40.00 fee.
  • Must be present 30 minutes prior to office closing.


What do you need for a Dog License:


  • Proof from Veterinarian of spaying or neutering to receive reduced license fee.
  • Proof from Veterinarian of current rabies vaccination.


$10 for spayed/neutered dog or $20 for non-spayed/unneutered dog.
