               Please take notice that the Town of Greenwich Zoning Board of Appeals will hold two Public Hearings in January, pursuant to Section 276 of the Town Law for

 

 Area Variance #2021-04 – Submitted by Henry Miller, regarding property located at 145 North Road, Greenwich. Applicant is looking to place a 12 x 24 structure on his property. Proposed placement of the structure does not meet the 50 ft Rural Agricultural required setbacks of Zoning Ordinance Section 190 Attachment 2, Table 2A. The proposed setback is 28 ft from the front property line. Applicant is seeking a 22 ft front yard area variance to allow placement of the structure on his property. Property located in Rural Agricultural District. Parcel ID # 229.-1-10.2

 

 - Area Variance #2021-05 – Submitted by Byron Peregrim, regarding property located at 1497 North Road, Greenwich. Applicant is looking to construct an addition on the rear of an existing garage on his property. The proposed structure will be a 14 x 30 addition to the existing 30 x 30 garage, which does not meet the 50 ft Rural Agricultural required setbacks of Zoning Ordinance Section 190 Attachment 2, Table 2A. The proposed setback is 40 ft from the side yard property line. Applicant is seeking a 10 ft side yard area variance to allow construction of the addition on his property. Property located in Rural Agricultural District. Parcel ID # 198.-1-4.4

 

Said hearings on these applications will take place on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 6:05 pm and 6:15 pm, and will be held at the Town Office Building, 2 Academy Street, Greenwich, NY at which time all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard.

NOTICE OF PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM

 

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Greenwich, Washington County, State of New York, at a Town Board Meeting held on December 14, 2021 adopted Local Law #4 of 2021, “Local Law of the Town of Greenwich adopted pursuant to Cannabis Law §131 opting out of licensing and establishing retail cannabis dispensaries and on-site cannabis consumption establishments within the jurisdiction of the Town of Greenwich outside of the Village of Greenwich.”

 

It is the intent of this local law to opt the Town of Greenwich out of licensing and establishing retail cannabis dispensaries and on-site cannabis consumption establishments within the jurisdiction of the Town of Greenwich, outside of the Village of Greenwich.

 

The full local law is on file in the Office of the Town Clerk at the Town Offices, 2 Academy St, Greenwich, NY 12834, and is available for public inspection during regular business hours.

Said local law is subject to a permissive referendum and shall take effect until the applicable time period has elapsed to file a petition with the Town Clerk of the Town of Greenwich requesting that the resolution be submitted to the qualified electors of the Town for their approval or disapproval in accordance with Cannabis Law §131 and Section 24(1)(a) of the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York.

Local Law No. 4 of 2021

 

Local Law of the Town of Greenwich adopted pursuant to Cannabis Law §131

opting out of licensing and establishing retail cannabis dispensaries and on-site cannabis consumption establishments within the jurisdiction of the Town of Greenwich outside of the Village of Greenwich.

 

Section 1.  Legislative Intent:

 

It is the intent of this local law to opt the Town of Greenwich out of licensing and establishing retail cannabis dispensaries and on-site cannabis consumption establishments within the jurisdiction of the Town of Greenwich, outside of the Village of Greenwich. 

 

Section 2.  Authority:

 

This local law is adopted pursuant to Cannabis Law §131, which expressly authorizes Towns to opt-out of allowing retail cannabis dispensaries and on-site cannabis consumption establishments to locate and operate within their jurisdiction. 

 

Section 3.  Local Cannabis Retail Dispensary and On-Site Consumption Opt-Out:

 

The Town Board of the Town of Greenwich, County of Washington, hereby opts-out of allowing retail cannabis dispensaries and on-site cannabis consumption establishments from locating and operating within the jurisdiction of the Town of Greenwich, outside the Village of Greenwich, and hereby requests that the Cannabis Control Board prohibit the establishment of such retail dispensary licenses and on-site consumption licenses within the jurisdiction of the Town of Greenwich, outside the Village of Greenwich.

 

Section 4.  Permissive Referendum/Referendum on Petition.

This local law is subject to a referendum on petition in accordance with Cannabis Law §131, and the procedure outlined in Municipal Home Rule Law §24.

 

Section 5.  Severability:

 

If a court determines any clause, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, or part of this local law or the application thereof to any person, firm or corporation, or circumstance is invalid or unconstitutional, the court’s order or judgement shall not affect, impair, or invalidate the remainder of this local law, but shall be confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, or part of this local law or in its application to the person, individual, form or corporation or circumstance, directly involved in the controversy in which such judgment or order shall be rendered.

 

Section 6.  Effective Date:

 

This Local law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.  Pursuant to Cannabis Law §131, this local law is subject to a permissive referendum and thus may not be filed with the Secretary of State until the applicable time period has elapsed to file a petition or a referendum has been conducted approving this local law.

LEGAL NOTICE

 

PLEASE BE ADVISED that Town of Greenwich Highway Superintendent Ken McPhail has designated the following road to be a Seasonal Road;

 

Larmon Road from Anthony Road to Lick Springs Road.

 

This road will be closed to traffic from December 1, 2021 until April 1, 2022.

Meeting Notice

 

A Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Greenwich, Washington County, New York will be held at the Town Office Building, 2 Academy Street, Greenwich, New York on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. This meeting is to publicly open bids and read aloud for Town of Greenwich Community Building Repairs and Upgrades Project and any other business that may come before the Board.

LEGAL NOTICE

 

The Town of Greenwich at a Town Board Meeting held on June 8, 2021 approved spending funds for the purchase of a new 2022 International HV613 SBA 6x4 Dump Truck with Wing System at a cost not to exceed $181,279.00. The monies for a portion of this purchase will come from the Capital Reserve for Highway Equipment Account and will be transferred to the Highway Outside Village Fund to pay for the truck. This resolution was adopted subject to a permissive referendum. Further information is available at the Town Office.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF TENTATIVE ASSESSMENT ROLL (Pursuant to Section 506 and 526 of the Real Property Tax Law)

 

Hearing of Complaints

 

 

Notice is hereby given that the Sole Assessor of the Town of Greenwich County of Washington, has completed the TENTATIVE ASSESSMENT ROLL, for the current year, and that a copy has been left with the town clerk at Greenwich Town Hall, where it may be seen, examined by any interested person until the fourth Tuesday in May.

 

The Assessor will be in attendance with the tentative assessment roll on

May 11th between 2-4pm and 6-8 pm

May 18th between 9-1 pm

May 20th between 9-1 pm

May 22th between 9-1 pm

 

 

The Board of Assessment Review will meet on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 between the hours of 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Greenwich Town Hall, 2 Academy Street, in said town, to hear and examine all complaints in relation to assessments, on the written application of any person believing himself to be aggrieved.

NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF TAX ROLL AND WARRANT

 

 

TAKE NOTICE, that I, Kimberly E. Whelan, the undersigned Collector of Taxes of the Town of Greenwich, County of Washington and State of New York, have duly received the tax roll and warrant for the collection of taxes within the Town of Greenwich for the year 2021. I will attend my office at 2 Academy Street, Greenwich, NY, beginning Monday, January 4, 2021 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. till 12 Noon, excepting Saturdays, Sundays and holidays for the purpose of receiving the taxes listed on said roll.

 

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that taxes may be paid on or before February 1, 2021 without interest.  On all taxes received after such date, there shall be added interest of 1% if paid on or before March 1, 2021 and an additional 1% for each additional month or fraction thereof until such taxes are paid or until the return of unpaid taxes to the County Treasurer, pursuant to law.
