If there are multiple applicants, applicant must be available to interview with the Town Board on Tuesday evening, September 13.
The Town of Greenwich is seeking to fill the following two positions:
PLANNING BOARD
This announcement is to fill an unexpired 5 years of a 7-year term, ending 12/31/2027.
The Planning Board meets at the Town Offices, 2 Academy Street, on the third Thursday of the month, 7 p.m. Workshops are scheduled on the second Thursday of the month when necessary.
The Planning Board is an administrative body of local government with no legislative power. The primary responsibilities are to review and approve: subdivision plats, site plans and special use permits; prepare land subdivision regulations and recommend their adoption to the local legislature; participate in the preparation of a comprehensive plan when directed by the local legislature; report on matters referred to it by the local legislature, including amendments to the zoning ordinance, the adoption of official maps and capital improvements; advise the local legislature and other boards on matters affecting a community's development; prepare other regulations relating to subject matter over which the planning board has jurisdiction and recommend their adoption to the local legislature.
Board of Assessment Review
This announcement is to fill a 5-year term, 10/1/2022 – 9/30/2027.
The Board of Assessment Review (BAR) is a five-member administrative review panel appointed by the Town Board to staggered five-year terms. The BAR meets on Grievance Day, usually on the last Wednesday in May to hear complaints against the current assessment roll. Members meet for a second time to render an impartial, objective determination and notify property owners by mail.
