North Road Farm

"Some say farming is a dying industry but it's still one of Washington County's biggest industries. And new farmers are still settling in this town. Of course, these days, they're just as likely to be growing gourmet lettuce or tomatoes as they are to be milking cows. They call their vegetables organic. Heck, folks have been raising organic produce on the banks of the Batten Kill for thousands of years. Some farmers have started raising designer sheep and cows that end up costing about $40.00 per pound by the time they land on plates in fancy restaurants all over the Northeast."

~ from "Greenwich - The Musical"

As the above quote indicates, Greenwich has a long and proud agricultural heritage. Continuing that tradition, this year the Ag program at the High School will host the 2005 New York State FFA Convention.
